Registration opens in the fall; the final is usually in February

A school-wide spelling bee for students in grades 1 through 5. Students register for Spelling Club in the fall, practise together by grade band, take a screener test to choose grade finalists, and the finalists compete in front of families in the Commons.

What to Expect

• Registration for Spelling Club in the fall, with study lists shared afterwards
• Practice sessions after school, grouped by grade band
• A screener test by grade level to select finalists
• The final in the Horace Mann Commons, open to families

Good to Know

• Open to grades 1 through 5
• A parent information session is usually held in the fall, before registration closes
• Practice materials are shared with everyone who registers, so students can prepare at home
