HORACE MANN PTSA

SCIENCE FAIR

Usually held in February

An evening where students present a science project to volunteer reviewers and to each other. Students can work alone or with a partner, and projects range from a simple demonstration to a full experiment using the scientific method. Every grade takes part.

What to Expect

  • Students set up at a table and present, staggered by grade through the evening
  • Projects can be an informational display or an experiment using the scientific method
  • Volunteer reviewers visit each project and ask students about their work
  • A food truck on site, and awards at the end of the evening

Good to Know

  • Registration usually closes about a week before the fair
  • Projects go on a self-standing tri-fold board with the title, student name and class
  • No experiments are performed at school — bring photographs of the work you did at home
  • Animals, hazardous chemicals and heat sources cannot be brought to the fair
  • Not a drop-off event — caregivers supervise their students for the evening

More information coming soon

This year's date, registration link and volunteer sign-ups have not been set yet. Watch the Horace MANNager and this page.

Help Make It Happen

The Science Fair needs co-chairs for 2026-2027, and volunteers to set up and to review projects on the night. No science background is needed to review — students do the explaining. Email sciencefair@mannptsa.org.
